Mathieu Matégot designed the Nagasaki Dining Chair in 1954 and is his best-known piece so far. First exhibited at the 1954 Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, along with Arne Jacobsen’s Ant Chair (1952), the only few three-legged models. Made with perforated sheet metal, with both back and seat curved and arched, similar to the form of a saddle and overall effect is one of lightness. The Nagasaki Dining Chair is now part of a permanent collection at an internationally renowned, privately owned Vitra Design Museum.
The unique structure of the Nagasaki Dining Chair pairs beautiful with many of our Dining Tables but it would definitely complement the Gubi Dining Table creating an exquisite match. Continue this style throughout your home with our range of designer Bar Furniture and Benches and Stools.
