Welling and Ludvik’s approach for the Mesa Dining Table was a simple one, literally. The design duo stripped the table off any details that are unnecessary and unjustified, leaving behind only what is needed. The result is a modest and subtle looking piece of art. It is this approach that allows the minimalistic table to be used in a variety of ways, in a variety of locations. Whether owned as a work desk, a conference table or a dining table, the Mesa never fails to blend wonderfully into its environment.
As French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery puts it, “Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away”.
Don’t be fooled however. The table top is strengthened with linoleum or laminate and is lacquered with a matte gloss 30 lacquer. This not only allows the surface to be resistant to scratches, but also gives it a lovely contact. The Mesa table is made from sustainable and environmentally friendly materials, and is easy to disassemble.
