Casa Estudio, Mexico

A study in contemporary Mexican design

Built in 2021, Casa Estudio functions as both a private home and a working studio for architect Manuel Cervantes. The space reflects the energy of present day Mexican architecture, combining bold structural elements with inventive spatial flow.

The residence carries a sense of solidity, yet the layout introduces surprising lightness. Large floor to ceiling openings connect each room with the landscape, drawing in sunlight and framing wide views. Textures of concrete and brick sit alongside warm timber details on the walls and kitchen surfaces, creating a setting that feels refined and inviting.

Inside, the atmosphere is elevated with signature pieces by Børge Mogensen, including the 2213 Sofa, the Spanish Chair, and the J39 Chair. Crafted in wood, leather, and paper cord, these designs bring depth and tactility that soften the raw materials of the architecture. The overall effect is a space defined by balance, comfort, and quiet elegance.
