The Corona Lounge Chair is the functionalist masterpiece by Danish architect Poul M. Volther. Four elliptically shaped, fully padded shells descend in size, two slim steel strips rise through the centre, echoing the natural curve and layered support of the human spine. It’s design inspired by the glowing halo seen around the sun during a solar eclipse, where precision meets poetry.
The shells are upholstered in soft, durable premium fabric or leather that feels inviting when you settle in. The exposed steel spine element adds a cool, refined touch, contrasting beautifully with the warmth of the padding.
The seat experience is gentle suspension, a soft cradling feel that follows the body’s natural alignment. It’s a gorgeous piece, minimalist in expression, built to stay captivating for decades.
