The FK 87 Grasshopper Chair is a true mid-century lounge classic, redesigned for the way we live now. Originally created in 1965, this chair carries the same design DNA that put minimalist Danish steel and leather furniture on the global map.
Today, production is resumed under Lange Production using the original 1960s tools, from the very same factory where the first editions were shaped. That continuity gives the steelwork an honest, beautifully engineered feel, refined but never rigid.
The frame is finished in black powder‑coated steel, smooth, velvety to the eye, cool when touched. Canvas upholstery provides a natural, softly textured seat that feels modern and breathable, paired with loose aniline leather cushions and neck support that add pillowy softness.
This is mid-century easy chair elegance that feels calm, luxurious, sculptural and intentionally built to last decades, not seasons.

The stable frame is constructed entirely of steel, providing a robust base for the chaise longue’s signature body, which is crafted from supportive canvas. Comfort is prioritized through the use of loose cushions and a coordinating neck support, both richly upholstered in premium aniline leather. You can personalize this iconic design with two distinct frame finishes: a sleek, reflective Chrome (chrome-plated steel) or a sophisticated, matte Black (black powder-coated steel). The aniline leather is offered in four elegant colors: classic Black, warm Cognac, deep Dark Brown, and a striking Green. Finally, the Grasshopper is available in a versatile Standard Edition and a bold Black Edition to suit various interior styles.
