Alchemist in Copenhagen’s Refshaleøen district transforms fine dining into a multisensory journey. Behind its monumental bronze doors, guests move from an industrial warehouse setting into a series of theatrical environments. The experience begins in the New York City room, where Lady Aiko’s graffiti covered walls and an urban soundscape create an unexpected first act.
A hidden partition lifts to reveal a bar framed by brass pendant lighting, navy Beetle Lounge Chairs, Stay Sofas, and taupe Bat Lounge Chairs. The room overlooks a towering wine cellar and a futuristic test kitchen, setting up a compelling interplay between indulgence and experimentation. A dramatic staircase then leads to the main dining bar, where dark blue Beetle Bar Chairs sit beneath an 18 meter dome illuminated by 360 degree projections that shift from northern lights to floating jellyfish.
The final chapter unfolds in an intimate upper room with a fire pit and tea ceremony bar where dessert is served. Every detail is calibrated to heighten sensory impact, and the furniture selection shapes much of the atmosphere. As noted by Studio Duncalf’s Mike Duncalf, the Beetle Bar Chair, Stay Sofa, Bat Lounge Chair and Beetle Lounge Chair are essential to the intrigue and ambience that define Alchemist.
