Le Couvent des Minimes, France

A Historic Provençal Retreat Blending Heritage and Modern Design

In the village of Mane, Fabien Piacentino and his family have guided Le Couvent des Minimes for over a decade, transforming the 17th-century convent into a cherished boutique hotel. Nestled in lavender-filled Luberon gardens, the property is celebrated for its Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Feuillée, and a design approach that honors the past while introducing contemporary touches.

The recent three-year renovation revealed historic murals and original stonework, preserving the convent’s character while creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Outdoor terraces and patios, furnished with Marcel Gascoin’s F-Chairs, invite alfresco living, reflecting the Provençal lifestyle and fostering connection with the surrounding landscape.

Inside, original features like the restored nave now serve as the lobby, where GamFratesi’s Sejour Lounge Chairs, Wonder Sofas, and Space Copenhagen pieces coexist with stained glass and cathedral arches. Complemented by curated designs such as Violin Chairs and Paavo Tynell lamps, the interiors radiate quiet luxury, warmth, and the authenticity of a family-run retreat rooted in history.
