The newly constructed Regional Hospital in Gødstrup, Denmark, sets a new benchmark for hospital design, blending organic Danish furniture with vibrant art by Erik A. Frandsen. The 375-meter-long foyer welcomes patients, staff, and visitors with a harmonious mix of mosaics, digital artworks, and carefully curated relics, creating a calming yet inspiring environment.
House of Finn Juhl – Onecollection collaborated with designers Kasper Salto and Thomas Sigsgaard to furnish the hospital with chairs and tables refined specifically for this project. The Council Family Series, derived from the iconic Council Chair created for the UN Trusteeship Council Chamber in 2013, is complemented by lounge areas featuring Finn Juhl classics, including the Poet Sofa and Pelican Chair in soft pastel tones that echo the artworks and interiors.
At the core of the design philosophy is a focus on human needs. Inspired by Finn Juhl’s approach of designing from the inside-out, the interiors achieve a sense of Gesamtkunstwerk, or total work of art, uniting furniture, architecture, and human experience. The result is a hospital space that balances functionality, aesthetic sophistication, and emotional well-being, raising the standard for care environments.
