The Wishbone Chair is the very first model Hans J. Wegner designed exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn’s in 1949.

To give stability to the steam-bent top and ensure comfortable support, Wegner developed the characteristic Y-shaped back that the Wishbone Chair is named after. The hand-woven seat from paper cord has impressive durability and stability of which makes the chair both strong and long-lasting. The lightness and sculptural shape of the Wishbone Chair adds style and functionality to any space.

Carl Hansen & Søn provides a 5 year warranty on their furniture’s workmanship and materials. The warranty excludes the product’s surface, and does not cover defects caused by general wear and tear, use of third-party materials on the furniture, significant temperature variations outside of what was advised in the care guide, visual changes in wood and leather (as wood surfaces and leather colours change naturally over time), improper use and handling, improper product care, or accidental damage. For woods and leathers, Carl Hansen & Søn does not guarantee colour resistance, matching of colours and textures or the surface hardness of these materials.

Carl Hansen & Søn reserves the right to repair or replace the affected part(s) of the furniture, at their discretion; this excludes any right to financial compensation. Danish Design Co supports any final decisions made by Carl Hansen & Søn on any warranty claims.
