Naver Collection handcrafts designer furniture that are known to last, and with the right amount of care and maintenance, you can extend the life of your furniture. Please note that Naver Collection’s product warranty is only valid when the proper care and maintenance have been followed as per the instruction guide.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR SOLID WOOD SURFACES
Being a natural material, solid wood can react to changes in the moisture content in the air. This can be in the form of texture – become rugged, warping – become slightly curved or split between the grain, this is especially common in Beech. It is best to keep a solid wooden piece of furniture in a room where the air moisture doesn’t fluctuate too much. Dried and well-seasoned wood is best suited for rooms with moisture content of 40 – 60%.
Follow these pointers to sustain the quality of your solid wood furniture:
Within the first month, it is important to not cover the tabletop with any heavier objects, as light discolouration can arise from lamps, vases and similar things.
Do not stand solid wood in direct sunlight or place it by direct heat, such a radiator or wood burner. The wood will dry out and cause splits in the tabletop.
Don’t cover the table with for more than 24 hours when using airtight materials such as an oil-cloth or plastic cloth. Splits may occur from this as the wood cannot breathe. This is especially a problem with tables made of beech wood.
Always protect the tabletop from items that conduct heat such as hot pots or items made of metal.
Use coasters / dish mats under hot objects and under glasses and bottles where condensation is likely to occur.
When using sharp tools, always use cut-resistant underlay.
Immediately wipe up any spilled liquids.
PRODUCT CARE FOR SOAP-TREATED WOOD SURFACES
Daily Care
Wipe the table daily with a well-wrung cloth that has been rinsed with clean water. Wipe again with a dry cloth.
Treating Wood with Soap Solution
It is recommended to treat your wood furniture 6-8 times a year, or as required. Treat both sides of the table with the formula below. An even wood tension is sustained by treating both sides of the table top.
Treatment formula:
Mix about 50 ml of soap flakes with 1 litre of boiling water. Let the mixture cool until it is lukewarm.
Apply the soap water to the table with a cloth. Use a dry cloth to remove additional soap water. Never pour the soap water directly on to the wood.
Let the wood air dry for about 1 hour.
If the surface of the wood is rugged, you can sand it down with glass-paper, with a grain of 220 – 320. It is important to go with the grain of the wood when sanding.
PRODUCT CARE FOR OIL-TREATED WOOD SURFACES
Daily Care
Daily wipe the table with a cloth wrung out in clean water. Followed by wiping the table with a dry cloth.
Treating Wood with Oil Solution
It is recommended to treat your wood furniture 2-3 times a year with an oil solution, or as required. Treat oil-treated furniture with the enclosed oil recommendations for product after-care.
Oil Treatment Instructions:
Add the white-oil to the furniture
Wipe down the furniture with a cloth (use a microfibre cloth, that won’t leave fluff)
Add the oil to the furniture surface with a clean dry cloth. Let it dry for about 3-5 minutes. The white-oil has to be wiped off immediately after. (Never pour oil directly on the furniture).
Once dry, wipe the furniture down with a dry clean cloth.
If the surface is scratched, you can sand it down with a little oil with the glass-paper, at grain 220 – 320. It is important to go with the grain of the wood when sanding and to wipe the remaining oil off the table with a clean dry cloth.
Before throwing away the oiled cloths, rinse the cloths in water to reduce the risk of fire after these have been thrown.
PRODUCT CARE FOR LACQUERED SURFACES
Daily Care
Daily wipe the table with a cloth wrung out in clean water. The should be followed by wiping the table with a dry cloth.
Thorough Maintenance
If the lacquer becomes dull or worn out, you can add a thin layer of furniture oil. Kindly check with the store staff you purchase this at on which oil to use.
Add the oil with a clean dry cloth. Let it dry for about 5-10 minutes. (Never pour oil directly on the furniture).
Once dry, wipe the furniture down with a dry clean cloth.
Before throwing away the oiled cloths, rinse the cloths in water to reduce the risk of fire after these have been thrown.
Extension Leaves made of Solid Wood
Care and Maintenance for Solid Wood Extension Leaves
Wood is a natural material and therefore reacts to the change in climate. This may result a solid extension leave becoming curved whilst storing. This often occurs when the extension leave has only been exposed to moisture on one side. Whilst in the factory, these leaves have been exposed to the same level of moisture on both sides, which created an even tension. The leaf can be made flat again, this is achieved by leaving the shortest side of the leave flat on the floor for 2- 5 days. Place the leaf in the portion shown below.
Another way to cure the curving, is to place the leaf into the table. It will be evenly exposed to the same amount of moisture within the air. Please beware that this procedure will take longer than the one described above.
PRODUCT CARE FOR STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES
Untreated, high quality stainless-steel is used throughout Naver Collection’s furniture range. Slight differences and small grind scratches may occur within the steel.
Removal of Spots and Scratches on Stainless Steel Surfaces
Remove grease spots with a wet cloth that has been dipped in alcohol, and then polish with a metal polish.
Remove a small scratched by using glass-paper at grain 220 – 320. It is important to go with the direction of the steel.
PRODUCT CARE FOR NANO LAMINATE SURFACES
Daily Care
Clean laminate daily with universal degreaser in warm water.
Thorough Cleaning
When removing stains, use a concentrated cleanser and wipe off with a dry cloth. (use a microfibre cloth, that won’ leave fluff). Wipe table carefully with a cloth wrung out in clean water to remove any residue of the cleanser.
When using an aggressive cleanser, it is best to test this in a less visible area first, to see if any discolouring appears to the laminate. Wipe table carefully with a cloth wrung out in clean water to remove any residue of the cleanser.
To remove pencil marks, lightly rub an eraser on the area, be aware that rubbing too hard can create marks on the laminate.
Immediately wipe up spilled liquid, as chemicals such as coloured fruit juice and similar liquids can discolour the surface of the laminate.
For damaged spots – Place a wet piece of paper towel on the damaged place and iron on the spot for maximum 10 seconds. Clean the area with lukewarm water and a microfibre cloth.
Removal of Spots
Small spots and micro scratches in the surface can be removed using a melamine sponge.
Melamine sponge: Rub the damaged part/spot with the melamine sponge.
Important Notes
Sanding materials such are steel wool, sourcing powder ect. will damage the laminate.
Soapflakes or brown soap shouldn’t be used as they can create a film that turns the surface matt. This film may be removed with a universal cleanser.
Please note that small different colour spots can appear on tables with a laminated top. If the spot is less than 1.0 square millimetre per square metre then it is within the allowed according to standard EN438.
PRODUCT CARE FOR CORIAN SURFACES
Corian® consists of natural minerals, pigment and acrylic polymer. The advantage of using Corian® is, that it on the surface it looks like stone, but is workable like wood. Meaning it is practical and can be made into any design without any visible joints.
Corian® is a hygienic material. The surface rejects moisture, dirt, and bacteria. It can resist almost any stain as it prevents liquids to penetrate into the material. It is simple to maintain.
Daily Care
For everyday cleaning, wipe up any spills with ether clean water or a common household degreaser.
Removal of Scratches
Scratches can be removed by using grind paper grain 500 or an abrasive plastic sourcing pad (e.g. Scotch-BriteTM). Always using a circular motion.
Thorough Cleaning
Corian® surfaces must be renewed now and then to keep the gloss of the surface.
Use a mild cream abrasive cleaner.
Clean the complete surface with a damp cloth using a circular motion.
