Per Weiss

Per Weiss is the Chief Design Officer of Innovation Living, a Danish company renowned for merging functionality and aesthetics in contemporary sofa bed designs. Born in 1959 in Denmark, Weiss began his career as a professional musician while studying at the School of Architecture in Aarhus. He later worked for renowned Danish architectural firms Friis & Moltke and Schmidt Hammer Lassen. In 1988, he graduated as an industrial designer and joined Innovation Living in 1989, where he has been instrumental in shaping the company’s modern Scandinavian design identity .

 

Over the years, Weiss has led the creation of many of Innovation Living’s signature collections, including the Cubed, Splitback, and Idun sofa beds. These designs are celebrated for their versatility, space-saving functionality, and elegant form—perfectly suited for modern urban lifestyles .

 

Weiss believes that furniture should serve real-life purposes without compromising on style. His design philosophy focuses on achieving minimalist form with maximum functionality. He blends the practical needs of urban living with timeless Scandinavian aesthetics, creating pieces that are both beautiful and purposeful.
