Raised in Darmstadt, Oliver Schick grew up immersed in an environment that was known for the history of the Art Nouveau movement in the end of the 19th century. Schick was greatly affected by his cultural past and graduated with a degree in Product design. After working several years as a freelance designer, he started his own studio and focused on mainly furniture, lighting and interior design work. His clients include Ligne Roset, Skandiform and Gubi.
This German designer aims to design timeless as well as easily understandable products. Schick desires to create designs that are simple in conception and production. His creations aim to be easy to use without being boring and without character. Striking the right balance is a key challenge for him as a designer.
