The String Pira was originally designed in 1954 by a traditional master cabinet-maker – Olle Pira, who skillfully hand-crafted cherry, matured oak and maple using old methods. With that, he secured a place at the well-known school of art, craft and design – Konstfack. It was the birthplace of innovative design that was ahead of its time. Thus, making him the first Swede to win a gold medal at the Triennale in Milan in 1952.

It is a shelf designed to enhance your space that resembles the beauty of nature. The shelving system is delicately elegant but robust at the same time which perfectly captures the classic 50s look.

String Furniture offers a 2-year warranty on all their shelving furniture (excluding String Plex), and a 5-year warranty on the height-adjustable table frame. The warranty covers workmanship and material defects, but does not cover the product’s surface, defects caused by general wear and tear, improper usage and product care, dramatic temperature variations, or accidental damage. Natural variations occurring in wood or felt are not considered defects, and String Furniture does not guarantee the colour fastness or matching of the colours, grains or textures, or surface hardness of these materials.

The warranty will be void should any modifications be made, or third-party materials be applied to the furniture. Any warranty claims are required to be made within 30 days of first discovery of the defect, with proof of purchase. Danish Design Co supports any final decisions made by String Furniture on any warranty claims.
